Iron Maiden

Iron Maiden have travelled the world for over 30 years, filling the grandest amphitheatres with heavy metal and their mascot, Eddie. Having played nearly 2000 shows since forming as a band in the 1970s, Iron Maiden will once again hit the road this summer, supported by Alice Cooper and Coheed and Cambria.

Mumford & Sons

The beloved group is currently recording a new album, set to be released later this year. As recent as last month, one of their tech’s announced via Facebook that Mumford & Sons will be touring the US, Europe and UK with Brooke Fraser and Ben Howard. Last year they toured with Edward Sharpe & The Magnetic Zeros to select locations in the US on the Railroad Revival tour, which sold out in minutes.

Bon Iver

Bon Iver made waves at this year’s Grammy’s winning coveted awards. Twitter was chirping with tweets like, “Who is this Bonnyver person?” Recently, he announced a limited spring and summer tour. The Black Keys

The Black Keys have blown up recently, and their 2012 tour schedule reflects that. Not only are they performing and headlining BOTH weekends at Coachella, they’re taking their act across North America and overseas in Europe.

Rage Against The Machine

The only Rage performance in the last twelve months was at L.A. Rising, where they performed with Muse and Rise Against. But the band adamantly states that wasn’t the last we’d hear from the Machine. A new album may be in the works with a subsequent supporting tour to follow. Keep your eyes peeled for news.

Aerosmith

Aerosmith has been pegged as “America’s Greatest Rock and Roll Band,” and considering their track record, I’m not one to argue the title. With over 150 million albums sold worldwide, Aerosmith is officially the best-selling American rock band of all time, which is probably where that moniker stemmed from. Last summer, Perry and Tyler began collaborating on songs again, so a new album and a tour in support may be in store for Aero-fans in 2012.

The Who

Rumors have been circulating since 2011 about a potential tour this year. Pete Townshend has actively discussed a “Quadrophenia” tour, based around their 1973 album of the same name. The band hasn’t hit the road in three years, and who can say no to a Who 2012 tour?

Kiss & Motley Crue

Kiss is set to release a new album later this year, by the name of “Monster.” And fans can expect nothing short of a wild time at the band’s upcoming summer and fall world tour. Motley Crue is set to join the painted faces.

Zac Brown Band

Do you like your Chicken Fried? Chances are that you’ve heard at least one of Zac Brown Band’s hits.  This summer, the band is playing a handful of country music festivals and fans can likely expect more dates to be added to their show schedule. Stay tuned.

DeadMau5

DeadMau5 has been a mainstay in the EDM community for years, but he recently garnered notoriety by pranking fellow DJ, Skrillex, on the the red carpet at this year’s Grammys, by wearing a t-shirt with Skrillex’ phone number on it. DeadMau5 has toured the world continuously over the last few years, and this summer is no different. He already has international dates in Europe and South America confirmed, but rumors state that he’ll be performing stateside later in the summer.

Journey

Let’s face it, Journey has been around forever. Their songs are staples in bars across the country, and they are a karaoke favorite. They’ve released 16 albums and one EP since 1975, and you can still catch them in concert, as lively as ever. They have very few confirmed shows in 2012, but there is a pretty hefty chance we’ll see them on the road later this year.

Enrique is a name almost everyone associates with the Latin singer-songwriter. Having sold over 100 million records worldwide, Iglesias is one of the top selling Spanish language musicians ever. Jason Mraz

Every woman’s favorite love song crooner hasn’t released a new record since 2008. He hasn’t had a big hit since “I’m Yours,” which subsequently didn’t blow up since 2008 as well. But that doesn’t mean you should remove his name from your radar. Mraz is currently working on a new album, titled “Love Is A Four Letter Word,” and has released the first single off of it: “I Won’t Give Up.” The jazz-y singer is rumored to hit the road this summer in support of Love Is A Four Letter Word.

Neil Diamond has been making music for five decades, which is longer than many of you have even been alive. Since the 60s, Diamond has been and continues to release new music. He recently released “The Very Best of Neil Diamond,” a compilation of 23 songs. Diamond’s tour kicks off June 1, in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida, at the BankAtlantic Center.

The award winning Latin rock band Maná announced an upcoming tour. Maná holds the record for the most concerts at the Staples Center in Los Angeles, even beating out the Princess of Pop (and sometimes crazy) Britney Spears.. Their 2012 Summer Tour kicks off on April 3rd in Brownsville, Texas.

Though it’s only February, we’re already counting down the days until summer. This countdown should help it move along. You can expect to see some of the biggest names, and some performers you’d never expect!

If you recall, many fans in New Jersey faced a similar predicament in Feb. 2009, when Ticketmaster directed users looking for Springsteen tickets to their resale website, TicketsNow, almost immediately after tickets went on sale. Although Ticketmaster funnels tickets to Ticketsnow for many events, such as the Los Angeles Lakers, there is no evidence they have ever had done this with Springsteen tickets.  
This time around, Ticketmaster is blaming the secondary market for the suspicious and “highly abnormal traffic patterns” their site experienced the morning of January 27. These are highly suspicious accusations on Ticketmaster’s part.  In fact, Ticketmaster deals with this type of “highly suspicious” activity all day, every day.  

The question people should be asking is simple: “Where are all the Springsteen tickets?”  In reality, there are less than 3,000 tickets for all the shows on broker sites, like Stubhub and Ticket Liquidator. With venues in New Jersey, New York City, Boston and Washington D.C. having a combined seating capacity of nearly 90,000, the tickets on the secondary market account for less than 3% of total capacity. Typically, brokers inventories only account for 8%-12% of tickets. In smaller markets, their inventory can be as high as 20%. There are little to NO good seats in the paperless sections.  Why doesn’t Ticketmaster provide a detailed account of where all these Springsteen tickets that brokers supposedly bought are?  They can’t because they are either in Bruce’s hands or the venue is holding them for all the legislators that are threatening to regulate the market.

It seems as if Ticketmaster is attempting to spin this current ticket debacle towards driving their paperless ticketing agenda down the throats of consumers. Ticketmaster is scalping almost every good seat on the Van Halen tour through their Platinum Exchange or VIP Nation, often for prices that are significantly higher than similar seats on the secondary market.  

The problem with paperless tickets is that you have to present identification to claim your tickets, and the names must be identical. If a fan purchases their tickets six months in advance, then realizes they’ll be unable to make the show, it’d be impossible to resell their paperless tickets.

If we go to paperless ticketing, tickets should be refundable up to 48 hours prior to event time no questions asked.
